Colour Run
On 29 August 2022 the Colour… Ran 🙂
The Colour Run is a chance for our kids to have some fun while raising funds that will provide a range of resources for their school. For parents it was a chance to see their loved ones have some fun, while also getting pretty colourful!
Who made this happen?
The Community and Culture Subcommittee (formerly the Early Years Committee), ably led by KIRSTY Allen and Chantelle Leung coordinated this event along with assistance from a range of other parents.
The business end
After costs, including those that contribute to the prized for our fundraising kids, we raised approximately $21,000 to support our fantastic school.
Senior sports day Sausage sizzle & Bake sale
Senior sports day, another chance for the older children to do their best, represent their houses and most importantly have fun. For us in the Warrigal Rd State school P & C it’s another chance for us to provide a service that adds value to the day, the kids will enjoy as well as raise funds to support the school and the amazing work they do.
Who keeps this engine going?
Firstly, we would like to thank all of the parents and wider community members who baked and sent goods for the event. Once again co-ordinating the efforts were Sara, Kirsty & Julie to ensure it was a tight ship. The parents & community members diving in, tongs and all, to ensure the show went on were: Rajah, Greg, Varna, Marelda, Jing, Ivy, Sammi, Aileen, Katherine, Rachel, Sharon, Jenny, Elena, Lisa and Grace.
The business end
We raised approximately $1000 to support our school and the amazing things they do- waiting on figures from Flexischools.
Easter Raffle
Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. Who wouldn’t like Easter? The weeks leading up to Easter the Warrigal Rd State School community came together to put on an Easter raffle. This ranged from the donated gifts from parents to the stamping tickets working bee and wrapping prizes working bee. There were winners of the prizes at the end of the day, but as with every year chocolate was the real winner.
So many moving parts, did magic fairies make this happen?
The only magic here was the amazing generosity from the Warrigal Rd State School community. We would like to sincerely thank the Community & Culture Sub-committee for co-ordinating the event from end to end and want to wholeheartedly thank our volunteers that did the heavy lifting to make this a success. They were: Chantalle, Rajah, Aileen, Samantha, Priya, Sandy, Isabel, Kirsty, Sara, Jess, CJ, Lisa, Emma and Katherine.
The business end
We raised $2184.74 to support our school and the amazing things they do!
2021
Disco – Friday 22 October
18 months after Covid first set upon us, we were finally able to invite DJ Paul to put on a show. It was not only good to see the children having a great time, but seeing the parents let down their hair and embarrass their children a little bit with their dance moves(just as their parents had done to them) was great to see.
How was this possible you ask?
The amazing Kirsty co-ordinating the show with the many volunteers: Sara, Sandie, Katherine, Ellie, Jacqui, Sankalp, Suh, Leah, Allie, Bek, Margaret, Megan, Jenny, Sharon, Dao, Sadi, Belinda, Alice, Waidy, Leyla, Celine, Linda, David L, Katie, Georgie, Makoto, Emily, Vickie, Lynn, Greg, David, Fan, Rebekah, Liz, Evette, Phoenix, Vanessa, Gee and Michaela from the amazing Warrigal Rd State School staff, willing parents and community members pulled together to put on an amazing night for all involved as well as raising funds.
The business end
We raised $5189.90 to support our school and the amazing things they do!
